After feeling blindsided by the postpartum recovery process with our first child, I felt called to help other mamas feel more supported in early motherhood. It struck me that I was surrounded by gifts to help my baby transition into the world, and nothing to help me transition into motherhood. Through my postpartum reflections and conversations with other moms, it became obvious to me that there isn't as much focus on a new mom after having a baby as there should be. Babies need to be nurtured, and so do new mothers. I created this company so that mommies can feel loved and cared for in this new stage of life. Being a mother is both beautiful and challenging, and feeling supported on the journey is incredibly important. We are so touched that our gifts can be a token of your love to another mama. We can't thank you enough for your support of our small + heartfelt business.
With love + thanks,
Andrea Madril
At baby showers, expecting moms receive all the essentials to care for their child. But what about the basics to care for herself as she recovers from having a baby and adapts to a new lifestyle? Pregnancy and labor stories are commonly discussed, but how often are we making space for new mommies to share how they are recovering, physically and emotionally, during this tender time? Even as integral parts of a woman's welcome into motherhood, these subjects are often considered taboo.
Sunflower Motherhood™ shines a light on moms. Our mission is to make a mother's wellness a bigger part of newborn baby culture. We believe the practice of self care and maternal wellness go hand in hand and ultimately lead to better care for baby. One supportive gift at a time, we take care of mommies on the wild ride of motherhood - from the joys to challenges and everything in between. 💛
Motherhood is powerful. The connection of being a mom can transcend differences between women. Part of the Sunflower Motherhood mission is to help mothers near and far because, simply put, we are all in it together. Sunflower Motherhood is named after a special soul who spent the last years of her life serving women and children all over the globe. The sunflower became the symbol for her impact, as it is the flower that radiates light and turns to face the sun. She believed in the importance of women helping other women, especially those in need.
Each day, hundreds of women do not survive childbirth or pregnancy due to lack of quality maternal care. A portion of our proceeds is donated to Every Mother Counts, an organization that is committed to making childbirth and pregnancy safe for women around the world.
